I took my car.Once you get landed immigrant status in canada, everything needs to be transferred with you. They asked me either transfer my car or take it back to USA right away.As I have my family with me, So I argued for a while but no success. So i went to the customs and let them fill up the paper work to get the car transferred.Also they dont let your personal car to list in the things to follow paperwork, if you are driving the same car.I came back to USA after two weeks. But the transfer procedure still require you to get clearance from the USA for which you have to give the 72 hour notice to some agency and then take the car.Also you need Manufacturing clearance recall letter(which can be done both in USA & Canada).
I did not pay canadian customs a fee which is 209 + tax, as I want to bring the car back to usa. You have 45 days to get all this things done , other wise You have to export the car back to USA. They told me to send the payment or they will send a reminder notice after 10 days, which to date i have not received yet.You have to buy insurance and change the odometer into Km and also headlights should remain on when you start your car. I dont know what gonna happen, but I will sell the car if I have to, and send them the sale receipt.By the way i entered from detriot, and everything went smoothly.

With out IV, The only two things folks on the hill knew were illegal immigration and H1B visa. Now more than 75% offices know the EB issue inside out and have a position on it. This is an effort that needs to be continued until we get a solution.
This in itself is a stupendous achievement and IV has made it possible. 2 or 3 years back you had NO VOICE. Now you have IV. Thats enough reason contribute and feel involved in the community effort.

Hi Guys
My date is not current but I understand the frustration here. However I beleive USCIS is under severe pressure to reduce the backlogs and not waste any numbers this year....so they are trying to exhaust them as and when they can...in that scenaio I guess lower hanging fruits are getting picked.
But on the bright side as I see it as more and more people get their GCs its a smaller line and the officers should be able to get to everyone's file in due course.
I completely believe the system should be FIFO but then don't you think that will be too logical for the USCIS......
Hopefully if they are able to get a lot of people out of the way they should go back to normal processing from October when new numbers are available and the pressure is somewhat less.....
Again above is my theory. I hope everyone gets their green cards soon and the line keeps moving.

USCIS will consolidate FPs for 485 and EADs. So if we don't receive biometrics for 485, hopefully we will get one for EAD renewal which will also serve the purpose for 485 processing.
Note: This only applies to concurrent filers of 485 and EAD.

Like many others on these forums, I have given up significant opportunities because I believed mistakenly that the GC mess would be cleared up in 2-3 years. Sometimes that does lead to extreme frustration - My wife often jokes that when I do actually receive my GC, I will have lost a very convenient excuse that the lack of one is holding me back. :-)

I agree. Something strong needs to happen for EB3(I). I personally never have seen any difference between the pain felt by EB2 and EB3, ROW or I. Everyone feels the same pain waiting for their GC. But the prospect for EB2 atleast looks better. For EB3 it looks gloomy as always.
If there is a lawsuit, then it should be for all, not just for EB3.

I feel sorry for EB3 folks even though I'm under EB2. But I get upset when some of the EB2 folks don't even know the reason why they started getting green cards recently all of a sudden ( b'coz of roll over). They don't educate themselves and talk as if they deserve the green cards. If was a collective effort from IV and fellow immigrants that pressurised USCIS to follow the rules and reduce the backlogs.
Are you implying every person born in India in the EB2 owes a debt of gratitude to IV?
Why do people not deserve their greencards? If they followed the law, stood in line, and the government of the USA deemed them fit for a GC what else do you need for them to be deserving? Touch your feet and get your blessings?

My case was received by NSC on JUN 1st. They issued the recipt numbers on JUN 5th. I am still waiting on my wifes. They could clear on Monday.. Looks like NSC is also trying to speed up things. They are just one day slower than TSC in issuing recepts.

140K GCs are available on Oct 1. But, dates are not current. Based on this, there appears to be a law that prevents USCIS from recieving ALL AOSs. I am guessing that this law specifies a cap on AOSs that USCIS can recieve from lawyers. (This is why I am keen on knowing conditions for setting dates in VB)
The following argues that it is hard for this cap to reach exactly on the end of every month.

For example July 2006 visa bulletin for EB2 india was jan 2003 and the August 2006 visa bulletin for EB2 india was unavailable. EB2 india visa numbers might have already been used up when the August 2006 visa bulletin was released but they still accepted the AOS petitions filed until the end of July 2006, they did not issue an updated visa bulletin or a revised visa bulletin saying eb2 india numbers are used up and they will not accept eb2 india aos applications, they continued accpeting AOS applications until the end of july 2006.
It is impossible to believe that this cap was not violated in June when it is possible that USCIS got 200K-600K AOSs.

All we are asking is to support some kind of action against the USCIS...
we just need to mobilize ourselves... this is not a fight for EB-2 or EB-3... but for the whole legal immigration system... let's just do something
we are looking at specific situations where the legal immigrant community was affected... and right now its the non sequential processing of the applications for EB-2...
for EB-3 we will need to make similar points which we can raise with Ombudsman or some other authority... we just need to find instances where people were affected... for example delays in EAD.. and that is for EB-2 and EB-3
What USCIS practise is unfair and unethical. Approving 2006 cases and leaving all those old cases is really an inhuman act.
What is the gaurantee that it will not happen to EB3 in the future? Let say in october EB3 becomes current and they start approving cases filed in 2006 and 2007 and leaving 2001, 2002 and other old cases, will you just keep quite?
