even my PD is current. but my case is transferred from texas to vermont. though my PD is current my processing date is not current. what is the reason for transferring I- 485 case from one center to other.

Imagine if someone has a cancer and he goes to a doctor and doctor tries all kinds of medicines and it does not work. He does get some relief in the pain though. So do you think the patient should ask for refund for all the money spent?
Likewise broken immigration system needs to be fixed and everyone tried hard for one year. We did get some relief from our pain due to 2 year EAD and namechecks memo. But the cure/bill did not pass. So do you think it means we should ask for a refund? And do you think anyone will even talk to us in DC next time if we act so cheap for the $5s some of us paid.
Why dont you have the courage to ask your lawyer for a refund because you dont have a greencard yet. Can you do it? If not then I think it is irratational to even think about it?

is there a way to find out, out of 360K case overall, how many are EB1, EB2 or EB3? Or how many files in year 01, 02, and 03?
overheard most are EB2/3 cases and not many 245i cases.
One thing for sure is that no file in BEC is EB1. The rest is all guess:
If the historic information can tell the present and future, then roughly for every 2 - 3 EB3, there is one EB2...
The trackers at immigrationportal show not many 01 files left, and there're still quite some 02 and a lot of 03 in both BECs. DBEC tends to process a lot of 04/05 cases recently in LIFO manner, whereas PBEC is a bit more FIFO recently barring some cases that came out of regionals..

Man why you need reciepts?
First of all those receipts are Applicant's (Employee's) property so I believe, if something is my property I MUST have it with me... Period. Now one thoughful reason is that, during the whole damn process, if you are not satisfied with the action taken by your lawyer and you want to change your attorney then having receipts with you would make your life easy then. Actually my attorney is really good and I do not see this coming but hey, if you have your originals with you it is better. Another reason is that suppose say in future, if you have to plan for Emergency travel outside, you would not have to plan waiting for receipts coming from your attorney then.

It's a well-know fact that Senator Kennedy only empathizes with "undocumented workers", and feels they deserve to be given "a path to citizenship" (amnesty by any other name is still amnesty... ) - understandably so given the demographics and numbers.

Our immigration laws are clearly broken, and stronger border enforcement alone will not fix them.

It contained important provisions to strengthen border security, but it also contained needed provisions imposing higher penalties on businesses that employ undocumented immigrants, a temporary worker program to help American businesses meet their employment needs, and provisions to address the millions of undocumented immigrants living in the United States by allowing them to obtain legal status after undergoing background checks, paying a fine, and going to the back of the line for green cards. The bill was a realistic and comprehensive solution that would not only protect our borders, but also enable needed temporary workers to enter the country legally, and allow workers already here to become legal.
Unfortunately, this needed legislation has now stalled in the Senate, which is enormously disappointing for Congress and the country. But the battle is far from over. I'm in it for the long haul, and Fm certain that, in the end, we will prevail. Ignoring the problem will not solve it. We cannot afford to do nothing, especially in this post-9/11 era. By heritage and history, America is a nation of immigrants, and we must preserve this tradition. I will continue to fight to reform our immigration laws, so that our borders are secure and immigrant families can continue to live the American dream.

My LC is still in process after auditing (EB2). My employer wants to 'drastically' cut back my salary due the national depression, which is particularly affecting the field my company is operating in (sub-primes). If he does that, and I accept it, is LC in jeopardy? We filed back in September 2007 with a certain salary and now it will be lower. Do we have to communicate the change to the DOL? And if yes, what will happen? Do we have to re-file? Thank you to everybody for all the info you can give me! Really!:(

Consult an attorney and see if you can re-open your old case or port that date onto a new case. You don�t want to start your GC process all over again. It is a pain for someone from retrogressed country.

As far as my understanding goes, EB1/2/3 is fairly recent, 15-20 year pehnomemon. As such getting examples of people who have been extremely successful post getting the visa is going to be difficult. Even for Harvard reunions, usually it is only at the 25th reunion (among a few thousand people) that you have some very successful people, in a 10-15 year span, getting extremely successful(to have your name in newspapers every other day) is like a 1 in 100,000 chance. Even with EB1s.

All the posts that I have seen on the forum are related to what we should ask for regarding ammendments and changes to the proposed bills.
Why don't we also offer our services in return for quick approval????
This is part of the idea that I had a while back after listening to Prez. Bush's address to the nation. He said that the fed will increase funding to increase the number of Science and Maths teachers. Well, why don't we offer our services. Anyone working in the STEM fields shall have to work for say 4 hours a week at local schools teaching Science/ Maths, etc. We know all desis can do that. Most have an engineering background or are good at math anyways.
This way the government can
1. solve the teacher shortage problem
2. provide more students (future generations) with the education
3. can actually show that legal immigrants add value to society at the grass root level
I am sure that we can and do much more, but most is not directly visible to the population. This has the potential to provide a big impact.
