Sorry it is not really related to the thread !.
Ths USCIS site says the following ....
"....The current fee schedule will apply to all applications filed under Visa Bulletin No. 107 through August 17, 2007. (The new fee schedule that becomes effective on July 30, 2007, will apply to all other applications filed on or after July 30, 2007)."
Does that mean if I file 485 on Aug1st I have to pay new fees?
Thanks any one for a reply.

Hey all,
hope you guys have visited the IV physicians blogspot. It is very good. One of the bloggers mentioned about supporting such a move, but the question is how do we start.I myself is technlogically challenged so we have to get the expertise of the IT people.I think we should start now.
folks,
i'm not a techie either, but creating a blogspot is very easy
the site is practically pre made
you just choose your templates and features
try it.. we would be happy to carry a link to "iv-schedule a" on the physicians blogspot

This seems very unfair to people who had earlier PDs (2004 & 2005) and who have waited so many years to file. Now, people with PDs in 2007 will jump ahead of them in the queue just because of this fiasco, juts because they filed earlier.

So maybe the H-1B provision killed it??
.
Thats what I think.
Any amendments that contain provisions to increase H1b quota will have very tough time to get through.

How would I-140 approvals impact the availability of visa numbers and isnt spill over already happening,ie, removal of country caps, as we have seen last year, last quarter as well in July VB?
More I140 approvals (of those who have already filed their 485) means more 485 eligible to be adjudicated. Longer the queue and more efficient the USCIS is - slower the PD movement.

Today I got my first soft LUD on my case. Last week I got a letter from USCIS that they had approved to expedite my case. I would rather have seen the AP but the waiting game continues.
Yesterday I went to the Local INS office after making an infopass appointment. Requested the IO to expedite my AP he looked at current processing dates for Nebraska Center Aug 15 I applied on July 20 INS process date on receipt notice August 25. He told me they would start looking at my case soon. I mentioned to him I need it expedited he asked why I showed him a letter from employer that I needed to travel outside us he said its not life death emergency. I insisted that if i didn't go I would get fired lose my job, he wait let me check with manager after 20 minutes he came back and said his manager agrees to process as emergency. He took all my original supporting documents and told me he was going to fax them to Nebraska center and also email to them. I mentioned to him that I have to leave by Feb 11 again he went to his manager and he said thats the best I can do. He took my phone number. I have not heard for INS no LUD on my case yet. If i don't leave by feb 17 kiss my job good bye. Anything else you guys recommend i can do. I also faxed the Nebraska center a request expedite still haven't hear or seen anything. :(
Your inputs are welcomes.

Kindly note yourself John, that using fonts like this are obnoxious. Also note that in America we write it like this: 240,000. Not 2,40,000. I'm not sure why I keep seeing this here. Is this some kind of Indian thing?
Kindly note,
This particular Cornyn amendment (S.Amdt. 2339) offered to attach to H.R. 2669 (College Cost Reduction Act of 2007 ), but the motion was failed due to lack of 5 votes.(55 YEAS and 40 NAYs. Require 3/5 majority) HR.2669 is passed by both Senate and house and sent for conference to resolve the difference between house and senate versions and president is sure to sign the bill and thus would become the law in another few days. This amendment does not have anything to do with defence bill, which itself is a failed bill or with SKILL bill. Following is the actions taken by congress of HR 2669.
IF THE AMENDMENT HAD PASSED WE WOULD HAVE GOT ATLEAST 2,40,000 RECAPTURED, UNUSED VISAS OF PREVIOUS YEARS IN ANOTHER FEW DAYS.
H.R.2669
Title: To provide for reconciliation pursuant to section 601 of the concurrent resolution on the budget for fiscal year 2008.

USA is made by illegal immigrants (over 13 millions) and bonded labors (H1B - GC).
Losses suffered by illegal immigrants and H1B-GC people fuels US economy (or at least contributes to that). My contributions so far might have been above half a millions. Indirect beneficiaris are top most companies.
You may get some valuable inputs from http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/showthread.php?t=19766 although I did not fully endorse the thread:
America is not loosing by delaying any process of streamlining any illegal immigrants or H1B-GC process.
sorry for going off topic.. but your title about the pyramids has been proven to be a myth.
New discoveries has shown that the workers building the pyramids were fed and cared for the way we care for olympic athletes these days.. Villages and cities were competing and bragging about how much they contribute in these national projects..
don't believe everything u c on hollywood screens..

For AllvNeedGcPc,
Do I need to do anything to get it moving? How do I put a Service Request on 485? The online system to put an eRequest only lets you do it for N400 or I90.
It does not hurt to send a interfiling request letter from your attorney. You can raise a Service request (via phone) if it is outside of normal processing time (30 days past after being current).
:) Got greened on Jan 4th, 2011 (Refiled in EB2 and ported PD from EB3)

From what I understand many 485 applications(not all)received in accordance to the June bulletin MAY have been preassigned a visa number(from the leftover 60,000 visas) NOT an approval.Although they are not supposed to pre assign numbers without name checks etc, is'nt it obvious that they might have done that??. They have a lot of cases to approve until Sept 30(from that 60,000 number)
But how cud they accept and process the application if his date was not current in june ??

Yeah that's the million dollar question, schedule A workers allready have 50K qouta, but that kicks off only after the regular EB3 numbers becomes unavailable, so they first use the regular EB3 number. Now they might have kept the status qou on that rule(first use regular EB-3 quota) and then instead of giving a fixed 50K quota they may use as many numbers after that. So basically what I'm saying is for non schedule A workers this amendment may not mean any thing.
It's a pessimistic view, but that's how immigration system have been in past 3-4 years.
Guys a little confused.
How does removing the cap from Schedule A, benefit the rest of us?

aarbi, did you do your medicals, did you loose your work day, did you paid your attorney, did your wife(if any) came back from middle of the vacation, did you had health problem when you done your medicals....did your app got stuck at USCIS for years......
sleepless nights for those people who's answer is YES for most of the above questions
My wife is in the exact sme situation as yours . She to scramble around in India to get her passport re-validated after my H1 extension in the middle of her vacation and board the next flight to US , go through the medical tests only to find out that the dates have been pushed back again.
